Introduction

What is MTEL?

MTEL is on online service used by Ontario secondary schools and school boards to manage the activities of students involved in Cooperative Education and other forms of experiential learning, including managing student and employer information, and creating and managing PPLPs.

MTEL can be licensed by any Ontario School Board for use by its teachers and administrators. Your board is invited to join the active group of boards already benefitting from this easy-to-use, powerful system.

Subscription cost includes hands-on training for your board designated MTEL liaison (for example, your board Co-op curriculum consultant).

User guide

A hard copy user guide is available for easy reference by teachers. It is presently being updated.

Immediate usage

Begin using MTEL immediately following subscription by your board to create and manage your co-op students' files and PPLPs.

The most recent upgrade to MTEL provides access to a bank of 150 model PPLPs prepared by experienced co-op teachers and reviewed by co-op coordinators of active boards.

User support

Your board's MTEL liaison will have been trained to ensure quality user support for all teachers, and in turn is supported by the program’s Provincial Administrator and the community of School Boards using MTEL.

Join the MTEL Provincial Committee

Working together in the MTEL Provincial Committee, school boards from both the public and separate school systems have helped design the way MTEL works and guide its evolution into an increasingly robust, easy-to-use and practical tool for teachers and administrators.

As a member of the MTEL Provincial Committee, your input will be sought in ongoing development. It also helps build networking amongst co-op educators working for the benefit of students and teachers through cooperative education placements.
